72 Hour Strike Notice for Job Action

Pursuant to the Labour Relations Code a strike must be called within three (3) months of a strike vote or another strike vote must be held to renew our strike mandate.  Therefore, there will be a Study Session at the Facilities Centre, 6700 144th Street, on Tuesday June 25, 2013 from 2:45 until 3:15.

All the CUPE K-12 locals across BC are expected to have strike votes taken by the end of this month.  On Tuesday, June 25, in a show of solidarity, all lower mainland CUPE K-12 locals are taking some sort of job action.

It is time that this government stops handing out wage increases to their friends and takes note that we need a fair and reasonable contract settlement and we are not going to settle for less.  We are gearing up for a full strike action in the fall.

In Solidarity,

CUPE Local 728 Bargaining Committee
